East Valley YMCA – Acoustical Design Services

 Founded on a commitment to community that encompasses youth development, health living, and social responsibility, the Valley of the Sun YMCA’s East Valley Campus services the needs of Mesa and surrounding areas. The East Valley facility also forms the wellness & fitness center for the adjacent University campus, offering programs such as Kids/Teens sport classes, pre-school summer day camps, kids/teens swim & aquatic classes and adult health, well-being & fitness classes. A two-story building with pedestrian access from east to west, this facility features planned expansion to link to the future Hospital, Assisted Living, and Student complexes on campus. CTDG’s scope of work included acoustical studies for the fitness areas, aerobics, child watch, gymnasium, teen center, and multi-purpose spaces. Additionally, Convergent Technologies developed schematic designs of the facility, making recommendations based on room reverberation times for the fitness room, teen center, aerobics room, and gymnasium. Recommendations were also made for special acoustical finishes to be provided for the specified rooms.
