Maricopa County – New Forensics Research & Science Building

Convergent Technologies provided all acoustics, noise and vibration control consulting for this research and examination building. Design schedule included involvement in design development, preparation of construction documents, and bidding document review. Responsibilities included review of building criteria as they applied to acoustics, noise and vibration for all laboratory and vibration sensitive spaces. Convergent Technologies developed acoustical criteria for HVAC equipment noise levels, sound isolation, room acoustical and floor slab vibration properties throughout the facility. Space plans included highly vibration sensitive specialized research labs, technology rich presentation rooms, and general office spaces. Design challenges included the specification of adequate infrastructure to isolate vibration from microscopes and other laboratory elements. This project has been successfully completed since March 2001.
