Carroll Community College – Classroom Building No. 4

The scope of this project for the Carroll Community College Classroom Building No. 4 is to provide audiovisual design with associated supporting infrastructure, telecommunications cabling systems design and acoustics, noise & vibration control design services for educational spaces. Space plans include 40 and 60-seat meeting rooms, 100 and 200-seat multipurpose training rooms, math classrooms, language classrooms, English classrooms, general classrooms and a testing center. The design of these systems required both the review of the College’s existing programmatic requirements and coordination with members of the design team, especially in areas such as audiovisual equipment rooms. The design of audiovisual systems also required the consideration of other constraints including ceiling heights, furniture layout, projector line of sight and AC power requirements. Designs for acoustical noise and vibration control systems included the specification of acoustical windows and doors, demising partitions between adjacent rooms, acoustical finishes on walls, ceilings and floors, as well as sound isolation from mechanical control rooms. This project has been successfully complete since October 2009.
