Kaiser Permanente – School of Medicine

The scope of this project included programmatic design services for the following technology systems: telecommunications structured cabling system, audiovisual presentation systems, and network electronics. The design effort included benchmarking comparable facilities and providing different gradations of technological complexity, from baseline to exceptional. Convergent Technologies developed a schematic design for enhanced systems including medical simulation suites, dual projection systems with 3D and interactive capabilities, dedicated video teleconferencing, lecture capture and streaming, as well as wireless medical telemetry systems. All of these advanced systems are supported by comprehensive infrastructure, which includes everything from conduit to Wireless Access Points supported by the Local Area Network. Convergent was also responsible for detailing the cost implications of each systems gradation on the technology systems budget.
