Maricopa County Community College District: Mesa CC – Language & Communications Building

Originally constructed in 1968 and 1969, the Language Arts Building and the English/Foreign Language Building updates include the upgrade to existing classrooms, the addition of interior/exterior student gathering spaces and the addition of a new lobby in the Language Arts Building. This new lobby will not only service the office spaces, but provide a link between the courtyard and the building itself. The scope of this project includes audiovisual systems with associated supporting infrastructure design as it relates to the renovation and additions to these two buildings at the Southern & Dobson Campus of Mesa Community College. Design includes complete and operational audiovisual and remote control systems including: video projection, remote controls, program and speech audio reinforcement and AV recording/baseband distribution systems. Renovation for this project occurred around the existing campus classroom schedule, so much of the construction and construction administration duties were performed during nighttime hours in order to ensure student safety and minimal distraction to instructors. This project is scheduled for completion in Spring 2011.
