Montgomery County – County Council Chambers

The objective of this project was to mediate the debate between technological advancements and historical elegance. CTDG accomplished this by assimilating state of the art technology seamlessly into the Third Floor renovations of the Montgomery County Courthouse, located in Rockville, Maryland. This allowed for modern technological flexibility and acoustical qualities while maintaining the classic visual aesthetics of the council chambers. CTDG provided design services for the telecommunications cabling systems with associated supporting infrastructure for voice/data/RF video outlets, audiovisual system electronics with associated supporting infrastructure, access control/video surveillance systems, room acoustics, interior sound isolation, and HVAC noise control. CTDG’s responsibilities included blending the new system with existing technology. This included audio, video and remote control feeds to and from equipment located in the existing Audio Visual Remote Control Room, enabling integration of AV elements and support of recording and monitoring functions to preexisting systems. The new AV systems included the Meeting Room, Lobby, Ante Room, and Conference Room spaces. The new AV systems can be used for presentations, collaboration, video teleconferencing, audio/video recording and broadcasting, local sound reinforcement and digital signage. This project was successfully completed in 2009.
