University of Delaware – Wolf Hall – Addition & Renovation

Convergent Technologies provided all acoustics, noise and vibration control consulting for this project. The design schedule included involvement in design development, construction documents preparation, and bidding document review. Responsibilities included analysis of building construction criteria as it applied to acoustics, noise and vibration control for engineering classrooms and specialized research laboratories. Convergent Technologies developed acoustical criteria for HVAC equipment noise levels, sound isolation, room acoustical and floor slab vibration properties throughout the facility. Space plans include twelve (12) specialized research labs, technology rich presentation rooms, engineering classrooms and general office spaces. Design challenges included the specification of adequate infrastructure to isolate vibration from highly sensitive microscopes and equipment in the specialized research laboratories. Project has been successfully complete since January 2002.
