Gettysburg College – New “Attic” Multi-Purpose Building

Convergent Technologies provided all room acoustics, noise and vibration control consulting for this new building. Design schedule included involvement in design development, construction documents preparation, and bidding document review. Responsibilities included review of building criteria as they apply to acoustics, noise and vibration for all open spaces throughout the building. Convergent Technologies developed acoustical criteria for HVAC equipment noise levels, sound isolation, room acoustical finishes, and floor slab vibration properties throughout the facility. Space plan included a student recreational space equipped with a high-output audio-reinforcement system to support live and DJ playback events. Design challenges included the specification of adequate room finishes to properly treat the open areas that are involved with the aforementioned audio system. The project has been successfully complete since July 2001.
