Maricopa County – Board of Supervisors AV System Upgrade

With over 3.8 million people, Maricopa County ranks 4th among the nation’s counties for total population. Maricopa also encompasses over 9,224 square miles, making its land mass greater than that of seven states. For these reasons, the County desires a technologically appropriate space reflective of their size and position in government. Meetings of the Board of Supervisors are broadcast live and the building offers availability to broadcast PHX11 throughout the day. In order to ensure a state-of-the-art and cost effective solution, Maricopa County asked Convergent Technologies Design Group to provide services as an Audiovisual Systems Upgrade Consultant. The scope of this project included needs analysis, design, development of specifications for a Request for Proposal, review of proposals and other related services as need for the procurement of Audio Visual (AV) equipment and systems for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors (BOS) Auditorium and Meeting Rooms. Spaces that received such services included the Tom Sullivan Conference Room, the BOS Conference Room, the BOS Auditorium (seating for over 200) and all associated control rooms. One of the primary challenges of this project was the design and facilitation of transition from analog broadcast components to a digital production platform and communication protocols. This project was completed in June, 2013.
