Messiah College – Nursing Department Renovation Feasibility Study

Founded in 1909, Messiah College is a Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences.  Located just outside the state capital of Harrisburg, Messiah enrolls approximately 2,800 undergraduate students each year. Convergent Technologies participated in the feasibility study for the planned Nursing Department Renovation, located in the Kline Hall of Science to encompass a state-of-the-art advanced simulation lab, and newly renovated labs which would include a maternal-child lab, a psychiatric-mental health lab, two basic skills labs, and a physical assessment lab. Our scope dealt specifically with audiovisual systems and their associated supporting infrastructure.  Responsibilities included evaluating the proposed floor plan usage in terms of infrastructure requirements, adjacency issues, as well as, all relevant design criteria, all while ensuring the outlined systems reflected a combination of programmed space requests, best practice industry nursing standards, and current Messiah College standards for classroom audiovisual (AV) system technology.
