Providence College – Humanities Building

The Ruane Center for the Humanities is envisioned to be Providence College’s signature academic building on campus, the embodiment of its commitment to liberal arts education as the college nears its 100th anniversary. The project scope for this 55,000-square-foot, three-story Humanities building encompasses audiovisual systems with infrastructure –including coordination of telecommunications cabling systems as it relates to audiovisual systems – and acoustics, noise and vibration control.  The spaces receiving audiovisual and acoustical design services include two lecture rooms, seating 120 and 150, respectively; twelve seminar rooms; three conference rooms; a 60-seat TEAL (Technology Enhanced Active Learning) classroom; a 50-seat classroom with future distance-learning capabilities; and a multipurpose great room.  Construction began on the Ruane Center in June 2012. Completion is scheduled for September 2013.
