University of MD, Shady Grove – School of Nursing

Expansion of the University of Maryland, School of Nursing, Shady Grove will allow the campus to double their enrollment over the next five years. The scope for the renovation of the Nursing Program’s facilities included program verification and audiovisual systems design with associated supporting infrastructure as they relate to campus. This project involved the renovation of the Simulation Center and related labs to include a Fundamentals Lab, OB/Pediatric Lab, Health Assessment Lab, Patient Simulator Lab, OSCE Exam Rooms, and ICU/Critical Care Lab. A centralized small control room for patients and control room operators was also included. This room allows a centralized matrix switching of audio/video feeds from rooms to allow any seat in the control room to monitor & record any bed in the facility. This project was a one year design effort and has been successfully complete since November 2009.
