University of Puerto Rico – Molecular Sciences Building

The scope of this project includes complete design for all telecommunications cabling systems, video surveillance security systems, and access control systems as it relates to this new state of the art research facility for the Molecular Sciences. Space plans include: rooms dedicated to Mass Spectrometry, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), imaging and tissue culture, research lab space, meeting rooms, and faculty offices. Scope of services included telecommunications room sizing, power requirements, environmental requirements, heat load design criteria, telecommunications room lighting and finishes, grounding and bonding for telecommunications equipment, as well as video surveillance security camera, access control, and intercom placement. Design responsibilities included cost estimating and technical specifications for all of the aforementioned systems. Project highlights feature creating a new campus standard for the telecommunications cabling systems, video surveillance security systems, and access control systems. The project is currently in the Construction Administration phase.
