The University of Virginia Hospital Expansion project won the Autodesk AEC Excellence Award in the Construction Medium category!
The University Health System is a nationally renowned academic medical center that provides specialty care services ranging from wellness programs and routine checkups to the most technologically advanced care. The hub of the Medical Center is a hospital with over 500 beds in operation and a State-designated Level 1 trauma center. This project involves the expansion of the Emergency Department to accommodate an existing and growing demand for emergency care. The department will include an intensive care/ intermediate care unit, intake & public support areas, treatment/exam rooms, trauma rooms, radiology rooms, nurse stations, conference room and support areas. The Expansion will also include a six (6) floor patient bed tower with acute, step down and ICU units.
CTDG is responsible for the design of the Low Voltage systems, to include Telecommunications Structured Cabling, Audiovisual Systems, Paging/Background Music System, Nurse Call, Video Surveillance, Electronic Access Control and all associated infrastructure. This project is currently in design and should be completed in 2020.
