Location:
Washington, D.C.

Construction Cost:
$1.8 Million

Gross Square Footage:
12,000 square feet

The D.C. campus of the Robert H. Smith School of Business is located in the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. The Ronald Reagan Building brings together federal, state and regional trade resources, international trade related businesses and services. In addition to the Smith School of Business this facility is home to meeting and wedding venues, conventions, conferences and other local and federal business offices. This project involved the conversion of 12,000 square feet of existing space into five (5) tiered classrooms including fixed seating and standard business school audio/video technologies. Convergent Technologies provided design services for audiovisual, and telecommunications cabling systems with associated supporting infrastructure as well as acoustics, noise & vibration control. Spaces to receive audiovisual technology included three 65-seat tiered classrooms, two 45-seat tiered classrooms and the lobby. Scope of work included $400,000.00 design to budget for audiovisual systems. Specified systems included digital annotation devices and custom instructor’s stations. This project has been successfully complete since 2008.
