United States Army – TRADOC Headquarters & Band Building

Convergent Technologies has been asked to provide HVAC noise control and impact isolation design services for the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Headquarters Building. This $78 million design-build military construction project is part of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure congressional authorization, which closes Fort Monroe and realigns the TRADOC headquarters from Monroe to Fort Eustis. The project consists of a five-story, approximately 263,676 square foot building consisting of command suites, private offices, an emergency operations center, conference rooms, an auditorium and additional work space for approximately 1,260 employees. The scope of work include the analysis of the ductwork layout, recommendations for noise criterion ratings for various spaces, review of manufacturer’s acoustical data for all HVAC system components, recommendations for static deflection of vibration isolators, sound transmission class ratings, and advice on partition type details and floor slab/ceiling constructions. This project is currently in the construction documents phase with estimated completion expected in time for the command’s move to Eustis in 2011.
