Midwestern University – Basic Sciences Building

Midwestern University is comprised of seven colleges specializing in the health sciences, the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Chicago College of Pharmacy, the College of Health Sciences, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Dental Medicine and the Arizona College of Optometry. Prabhu Hall is an interdisciplinary basic science building with anatomy labs, classrooms, offices, animal research laboratories and research facilities for biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, and pharmacology. In addition to housing basic science programs, the building also provides space for the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Dentistry with dental simulation facilities. Prabhu Hall is accredited by the American Associate for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) featuring a vivarium, BSL-3 animal holding room, procedure rooms and surgical suite for USDA covered species. Convergent Technologies provided complete design services for audiovisual systems, telecommunications cabling systems and acoustics, noise & vibration control for this five-story building. This building was designed to be LEED certified but the University opted not to pursue accreditation. This project has been successfully complete since 2001.
