Wor-Wic Community College – Allied Health Building
The scope of this project includes complete design services for telecommunications cabling systems with supporting associated infrastructure, audiovisual systems with associated supporting infrastructure, access control and video surveillance security systems with supporting associated infrastructure, and acoustics, noise & vibration control as it relates to the New Allied Health Building at Wor-Wic Community College. Spaces to receive educational technology include: one (1) Meeting Room; three (3) Nursing Labs; one (1) Radiologic Lab; sixteen (16) Classrooms; one (1) Occupational Therapy Lab; one (1) EMS Lab; one (1) Physical Therapy Lab; Simulation Labs; Conference Rooms; and Administrative and Nursing office spaces. Educational technology systems: clinical training management systems, healthcare observation & recording, digital audio/video capture with streaming capabilities to the Local Area Network (LAN), distance learning, audiovisual presentation, program/speech audio reinforcement and custom instructor’s stations. Patient simulator labs feature two beds in each room connected to the instructors’ station for control of patient monitoring / recording stations and encoding onto the network. Other project highlights feature the design of an access control system that include proximity card readers, door position switches, request-to-exit devices and door locking mechanisms. This project is currently in the Construction Documents phase with a projected completion date of May 2011.
